All the loft apartments in The Merc are unique and no two are alike. Each loft has it’s own personality and layout and offer opportunities to find one that suits your needs and style.

Whether it’s a small one bedroom or a large two bedroom with aloft, or something in between, The Merc has something for everyone. All the lofts have a peaceful color scheme which includes neutral walls, white woodwork, porcelain tile and khaki carpet. Kitchens have beautiful maple cabinetry and granite counters as well as stainless steel appliances.

Windows are varied in each unit with some as tall at 12’, French doors open onto balconies, views let you know that your are in the heart of an urban revival and some units have industrial clerestory style windows creating a bath of natural light. Each apartment has a gas fireplace with a painted wood mantle and surround. Laundry is made easy with a stack washer and dryer inside each apartment.

The central core Atrium has a view that soars from the ground floor up three stories to a dramatic view of the sky through a breathtaking skylight. This atrium is common space for the building and is a venue that will offer many opportunities to gather and enjoy the grandeur of The Merc.

The Historic Mercantile Lofts are located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, Ohio at 228 High St. With the huge bronze statue of Alexander Hamilton gracing the street in front of The Merc, you will find yourself in the heart of a downtown area that is coming back to life, with restaurants, entertainment, history and outdoor activity right at your doorstep.

With Ryan’s Tavern and True West Coffee right across the street, you are never far away from a good meal, an after work drink with friends or a cup of coffee and muffin to start your day. Other restaurants within walking distance are Plaza One Grille at the Courtyard by Marriott, Kosta’s, Neal’s Café, and J*Austin’s Riverbank Cafe as well as a host of other establishments in the German Village Historic District.

Within walking distance of the Fitton Center for Creative Arts, residents of The Merc have easy access to creative classes, entertainment and an ever changing art gallery show. The Fitton Center offers the Entertainment Plus series of weekend performances as well as the Mad Anthony Theater and Celebrating Self series. There is something for everyone at the Fitton Center and quality arts programming is just a short walk away from The Merc. Miami Downtown, a community engagement center of Miami University is right across the street from The Merc and has a variety of afternoon and evening performances and lectures. There is always something going on at Miami Downtown to allow you to expand your knowledge while enjoying a cup of coffee from True West Coffee who shares the space.

If healthy pursuits are more your style, the YMCA’s fist class fitness facilities are right out your back door. Miles of paved bike path runs along the shore of the Great Miami River. The Greater Miami Rowing Center is also within easy reach and classes for all ages and experience levels are available. Whether you are walking, biking, running, rowing or just enjoying the many parks nearby, the Merc allows you easy access to many outdoor activities.

The main branch of the Lane Library is housed in a beautiful historic building on 3rd St. and is a short walk away from The Merc. The library houses an extensive collection of books, DVDs, movies and has beautiful reading room where you can spend some time with a good book. There are also many historic museums in the neighborhood including the Hamilton History Museum, the Butler

County Benninghofen House Museum and the Lane Hoovan House. All of Hamilton’s nearby Historic Districts – German Village, Dayton Lane and Rossville – can provide an afternoon of strolling through outstanding architectural examples of a bygone era.

RiversEdge, an outdoor amphitheater on the old Mercy Hospital site, near the Courtyard by Marriott is a great venue to relax on the lawn and enjoy live music from various artists throughout the Summer Concert Series. An additional phase to the venue, Marcum Park, will include more than six acres of space between N. Second Street, Dayton Street, Front Street and Buckeye Street, including the existing amphitheater and overlook. All within an easy stroll from The Merc. Hamilton is on the move as a center for the arts and creativity and The Merc is at the heart of it all.
